Note: If you are contemplating pumping warm
humidified air into a boxed microscope, consider the following:
- Total cost of enclosure and supportive control
- Willingness to be encumbered by limited physical
access to the scope
- Duration of time it takes to equilibrate the specimen
to physiological temperatures
- The volume of the enclosure and the amount of CO2
required to maintain it
- Degradation to the scope and cost of having your
scope serviced more frequently (see below)

Microscope
Restoration
Service
Special offer of interest to anybody that
has elected to box their scope!
Bioptechs does not advocate the use of a humidified microscope enclosure "box".
However, they have become popular. Therefore, if you have boxed your scope and
on a regular basis pump warm humidified air into your expensive microscope you
will undoubtedly be in need of the following service. Bioptechs now offers a
microscope restoration service at a significant savings as compared to the original
manufacturer. The service includes transportation in a special padded shipping
container, disassembly, photo documentation of problem areas, cleaning of all
accessible optical and mechanical surfaces, restoration of critical mechanical
surfaces when possible, lubrication, reassembly, and alignment. All work done in
a well equipped dust free optical laboratory. The service does NOT
cover damage to optical surfaces and coatings, replacement cost of severely
rusted or corroded guides and bearings, electronic components subject to
corrosion such as circuit boards, circuit board components and motors. |
